■ Purpose

To compare the effect of ultrasound-guided microwave ablation and traditional open surgery in the treatment of thyroid nodules.

■ Method

Select 100 patients diagnosed as thyroid nodules who need surgical treatment, and divide them into microwave ablation group (50 cases, using ultrasound-guided microwave ablation) and traditional surgery group (50 cases, using traditional open surgery) according to the patient's wishes. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative complication rate, cosmetic effect and postoperative 12h interleukin (IL鄄6), C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF) Juan Zhuo) level for comparison.

■ Results

The cosmetic effect after microwave ablation was significantly better than that of traditional surgery; the operation time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative hospital stay in the microwave ablation group were significantly shorter than those in the traditional surgery group (P<0.01); the incidence of postoperative complications in the microwave ablation group was 4.00%, which was not significantly different from 12.00% in the traditional open surgery group (P>0.05); 12 hours after operation, the levels of CRP, IL-6, and TNF-α in the microwave ablation group were significantly lower than those in the traditional surgery group (P<0.05). 0.01).

■ Conclusion

Compared with traditional surgery, ultrasound-guided microwave ablation for thyroid nodules has shorter operation time, less trauma, no postoperative scar, quick recovery and definite curative effect, which has strong clinical application value.
