Yigao Medical's PRINsystem™ lung visualization precision microwave ablation system has been launched, ushering in a new era of precision ablation of lung tumors.
2025-07-30 Share:
From the world's first cold circulation technology becoming a universal industry standard, to ablation thermal field simulation technology that allows real-time monitoring of ablation dynamics, Yigao Medical has continuously innovated to break through the boundaries of ablation technology. With the approval of the registration certificate for microwave ablation of lung tumors, microwave ablation has ushered in a major breakthrough in the treatment of lung tumors. With the PRINsystem™ visualized precision microwave ablation system as its core, Yigao integrates the new generation of Borui Knife™ ablation needles, intelligent microwave ablation host, and puncture navigation system to build the industry's first precision treatment system covering the entire process of "preoperative intelligent planning - real-time presentation of the intraoperative thermal field - immediate postoperative evaluation." When microwave thermal fields move from empirical deduction to real-time visualization, ablation therapy has officially completed the transition from empirical medicine to quantifiable and predictable precision medicine.

At this point, Yigao Medical has become the only microwave ablation company that currently has Class III medical device registration certificates for four major diseases: lung tumors, thyroid tumors, liver tumors, and varicose veins of the lower limbs, providing complete solutions for minimally invasive tumor treatment.

With the popularization of low-dose CT screening, the detection rate of early lung cancer and high-risk lung nodules has increased significantly, among which multiple lesions account for 35%-60% (Chinese Journal of Radiology, 2025).

Compared with traditional surgical resection, microwave ablation (MWA) provides a better solution for the treatment of lung nodules due to its advantages such as less trauma, faster recovery, shorter operation time, repeatable treatment and immune activation effect.

Compared with other ablation methods, MWA has become the mainstream method for minimally invasive ablation of lung tumors (nodules) due to its advantages such as higher thermal efficiency, shorter operation time, and less influence from intrapulmonary gas. It can preserve healthy lung tissue to the maximum extent and maintain breathing quality for patients.

The system, comprised of a visual precision microwave ablation system, an intelligent microwave ablation needle (Borui Knife), an ablation unit, and a puncture navigation system, overcomes three major clinical bottlenecks: dependence of ablation parameters on physician experience, puncture positioning deviations, and lack of visibility into the intraoperative range. This system, the world's first precision ablation system with calculable ablation energy, visualized thermal field distribution, and verifiable ablation range, fundamentally transforms tumor ablation from empirical deduction to physical quantification.

• Preoperative AI Planning: Integrating global expert experience and massive diagnostic and treatment data, AI-based models generate personalized treatment plans (including ablation method, puncture path, and power parameters) with a single click.
• Intraoperative Puncture Navigation: Real-time dynamic monitoring of the puncture path and automatic correction of positioning deviations (error <4mm)
• Thermal Field Simulation Technology (developed in collaboration with the University of Houston, Beihang University, and Nanjing University of Science and Technology):

→ Maxwell's equations are used to analyze tissue dielectric properties and calculate electromagnetic field distribution.

→ Pennes' equations are used to construct a temperature field model and deduce the "electromagnetic energy-thermal energy-tissue damage" transformation process.

→ Real-time visualization of the temperature gradient distribution in the ablation zone puts an end to the era of "blind ablation."

Intelligent ablation needle matrix

Intelligent Temperature-Measuring Ablation Needle: A built-in temperature sensor chip collects real-time data and transmits it to a visualization system, enabling microwave thermal field simulation.

Round Needle: By controlling the microwave energy field and forward distance, the ablation area is more spherical, significantly reducing central carbonization and cavitation, and effectively lowering the risk of complications such as bronchial fistula.

Ultra-Fine Needle: The industry's thinnest 1.2mm diameter design enables precise ablation of tiny nodules.

MRI Needle: Full-sequence MRI compatible, providing real-time guidance for precise ablation.

Intelligent ablation host

Dynamic Power Regulation: Real-time monitoring of standing wave ratio (SWR) eliminates the risk of tissue carbonization.

Dual-channel Temperature Control: Simultaneously monitors epidermal and deep tissue temperatures, providing automatic over-temperature protection.

Surgery Cloud Intelligence: Automatically archives ablation parameters and builds a large-scale surgical data map.

Yigao has always adhered to its mission of pioneering innovation from 0 to 1. Without a benchmark, all innovation is extremely challenging. Yigao's breakthroughs extend beyond product technology. It also continuously promotes innovation in the clinical application of microwave ablation technology, academic collaboration systems, and business models in the field of minimally invasive medicine.

Pioneer of technological innovation

• 2002: The cold-circulating microwave scalpel debuted, overcoming the century-old challenge of needle burns caused by high-temperature burns, making this original Chinese technology the industry standard.

• 2018: The real-time temperature measurement system debuted, enabling the first visual monitoring of intraoperative temperature.

• 2024: The visual precision system took off, ushering ablation technology into the era of quantifiable and predictable precision medicine.

Pioneer in indication expansion

From deep penetration into malignant tumor treatment to innovative exploration in benign lesions, Yigao has consistently been committed to expanding the application of its technology, pioneering the development of ablation needles and catheters suitable for diverse diseases, including thyroid, breast, bone tumors, and varicose veins.

We have enabled microwave ablation technology to take root in fertile clinical settings: patients with thyroid nodules are freed from neck scars, elderly patients with varicose veins regain freedom of movement, and multiple lung nodules no longer require lobectomy. Behind each expansion of its indications lies the spark of the collision between clinical needs and technological innovation.

Promoter of industry development

• In 2015, we established the Jinling Forum on Cancer Ablation (CCMA), building a leading international platform for academic exchange and collaboration on ablation, and promoting strategic collaboration among hospitals along the Belt and Road.

• We implemented the "Last Mile" initiative, establishing over 30 CCMA ablation training bases worldwide, creating a one-stop, closed-loop system for "training, surgery, and follow-up." We have helped perform the first microwave ablation surgeries in over 30 countries, including the Hungarian National Cancer Center, Tawam Hospital in the United Arab Emirates, and the Clinical Hospital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Local media featured the event as "China Knife," which was featured on the front page of the news.

• We collaborated with leading global experts to initiate and formally establish the World Association for Ablative Therapy (WATA), creating the first world-class ablation association spearheaded by China. This initiative fills the gap in a global academic organization focused on ablation and provides a spiritual home for ablation experts worldwide.

• We established the Nanjing Minimally Invasive Ablation Technology Association and launched the "Compass" Young Doctors Competition to promote the development of clinical application capabilities among primary care physicians and young doctors.

25 Years, Setting the "Chinese Standard" for Microwave Ablation

Yigo Medical

From the first cold-circulation microwave scalpel in 2002 to the "Chinese Standard" that has cumulatively performed 600,000 surgeries worldwide by 2024, Yigao has spent 25 years transforming "0" into "1," and then expanding "1" into "countless." Microwave ablation, a pioneering Chinese medical technology, has become a global leader after 30 years.

Yigao has grown from a follower to a leader, witnessing and participating in the rise of minimally invasive treatment in China. Today, precise and standardized ablation is just the starting point. Going forward, Yigao will continue to follow the closed innovation cycle of "clinical needs - technological breakthroughs - standardization," advancing microwave ablation from empirical medicine to a quantifiable science.
